Sing the Word - The Choral Department welcomes Dean of The Hartt School Malcolm Morrison and distinguished actress Johanna Morrison for an evening of vocal music, dramatic readings, and poetry by Shakespeare and some of the great figures of English Literature. In addition to the Hartt choruses under the direction of Edward Bolkovac, Carolina Flores, and Stuart Younse, Hartt Alumnus Luke Scott, baritone, and Hartt vocal soloists also will be featured.

Getting Started with Blackboard - This session, which is offered every Tuesday, is designed for faculty new to Blackboard and provides a general orientation with hands-on time to begin working in Blackboard. Instructors will learn strategies for organizing Blackboard courses, review the many tools and features available, and start adding content items such as a syllabus to their course. Faculty should bring digital versions of their content items since this is designed as a hands-on seminar.

The Gothic Novel: Dark side of the romance - Kathleen McGrory introduces intrepid readers to a macabre world of pleasant terror in 18th and 19th century novels, including Walpole's Castle of Otranto, Radcliffe's Mysteries of Udolpho, Lewis' The Monk, Mary Shelley's Frankenstein, and Bram Stoker's Dracula. Five Tuesday lectures.
